Water Testing & Understanding
FRANCOIS NEO AQUASTUDIO · WATER TESTING & UNDERSTANDING
More than numbers. Understand your water.
Learn to test with confidence. Choose professional analysis when you want us to perform the measurements, explain the results and help you understand what to watch next.
Our approach combines education, Exaqua-based water analysis and the option of ICP laboratory testing. A test result becomes useful when you understand it in the context of your aquarium.

Coming to AquaStudio Lexington. The store is in preparation. The service options below introduce our planned approach; contact us for current arrangements and opening updates. Walk-in sample drop-off and Water Club enrollment are not open yet.

Enquire about the Water ClubThe Reef Essentials panel
Five core reef parameters, presented together rather than as isolated numbers.
| Parameter | Result |
|---|---|
| Alkalinity · KH | Recorded in dKH |
| Calcium · Ca | Recorded in mg/L |
| Magnesium · Mg | Recorded in mg/L |
| Nitrate · NO₃ | Recorded in mg/L |
| Phosphate · PO₄ | Recorded in mg/L |
We discuss the readings alongside the aquarium type, livestock, salinity information, recent maintenance and dosing. The same numbers do not tell the whole story for every aquarium. Other parameters are outside this five-test panel and can be discussed separately.
Why professional analysis is a paid service
Professional testing takes equipment, reagents, careful sample handling, staff time and interpretation. Our paid analysis is designed to provide a clear record and a useful conversation, rather than simply hand you a list of numbers.
The complimentary discovery session helps you learn the method. When our team performs your complete analysis, that work belongs in a paid session or a defined membership.
ICP laboratory analysis
For a broader laboratory investigation, we can discuss an ICP service and help you understand the returned report in the context of your aquarium. The laboratory and selected panel determine which elements are measured.
ICP is a separate paid option. It is not part of the free discovery, Reef Essentials panel or proposed monthly Water Club inclusion. Laboratory fees, sample shipment, report interpretation and any follow-up are confirmed before arranging the service.
Water Club or aquarium coaching?
Water Club: we measure, record and briefly explain your results and trends.
Coaching: we work with you on an action plan, review the changes you make and follow how the aquarium responds. Coaching provides continuing guidance beyond a testing appointment.
The existing Starter, Expert and Premium coaching options are available on our Coaching & Premium Guidance page. Testing and ICP are not automatically included in a coaching purchase unless explicitly stated in the agreed plan.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer free water testing?
We offer a limited, complimentary Learn to Test introduction: one basic demonstration parameter and a brief explanation. Full professional analysis, written records and ongoing monitoring are paid services.
Can I book a complete panel without joining the club?
Yes. Reef Essentials is planned as a one-time paid option as well as the panel included in the Water Club.
Does the Water Club include unlimited tests?
No. The proposed membership includes one five-parameter panel per month for one aquarium. Additional analyses are arranged separately. Final terms will be confirmed before enrollment.
Will you tell me exactly what to dose?
The analysis includes a short interpretation, not an ongoing dosing program. A detailed action plan or extended troubleshooting can be arranged through consulting or coaching.
Can I bring my own results?
Yes. We can discuss testing technique in a brief educational exchange. A detailed review of your own results or history can be arranged as consulting or coaching.
Can I drop off a sample today?
