The Build — AquaStudio Lexington
LEXINGTON, SOUTH CAROLINA · IN DEVELOPMENT
Every aquarium starts with a vision. This is ours.
Follow the transformation of an unfinished space into Francois Neo AquaStudio Lexington.
Current stage: space planning and design development. The premises are not finished, and the images below illustrate the design direction we are exploring.
Where we are starting
We are starting with a blank space. Our work now focuses on the planned partitions, room layout and preparation of information for the contractor. The floor plan describes the intended space after construction; it is not a record of completed work.
Designing the AquaStudio experience
The concept combines white cabinetry, light wood and open sightlines, with room to move comfortably between aquariums. We are developing the store around three connected experiences:
- Discover: coral displays, marine fish systems and a selection of aquarium sizes.
- Discuss: a straightforward checkout area, coffee counter and lounge for aquarium conversations.
- Understand: dedicated farm and acclimation space, a preparation workshop and an audiovisual corner for future educational content.
What happens next
- Refine the layout and review the technical requirements with the contractor.
- Prepare the space and install the aquarium systems.
- Commission and evaluate the systems before introducing livestock.
- Confirm the opening arrangements and welcome the community.
These are planned stages. We will share progress as work is completed rather than announce dates before they are confirmed.

Concepts today. Real progress to follow.
The 3D images help us explore the space. They are not construction drawings and do not represent a finished store. Future updates will show the actual work, decisions and aquarium installations.
