MANTIS MR150 — Media filtration with a clear purpose
The MR150 is an acrylic media reactor for marine or freshwater filtration, with a manufacturer-listed chamber capacity of 2,500 mL. It provides a dedicated chamber for flow-through filter media.
François Neo’s recommendation
I add a reactor to address a measured need. Choose the medium first, calculate its dose for your aquarium, then set the flow according to that medium’s instructions. Carbon, phosphate-removing media and biopellets have different operating requirements; chamber capacity alone does not determine the right dose or flow.

The aquarium-volume figure is a manufacturer guideline. Actual suitability depends on the medium, dose, system load and installation. Leave clearance above the reactor for opening and media replacement.
Feed-pump selection
The listed pump figure is a suggested pump rating, not the required flow through every type of medium. Adjust delivery for the media being used and account for plumbing restrictions. The manufacturer page does not specify an included pump; confirm package contents with us before ordering.
Plan for maintenance
- Choose media suitable for a reactor and follow its dosing and rinsing instructions.
- Check fitting compatibility and service access before installation.
- Inspect for leaks and media escape when starting the system.
- Monitor relevant water parameters and replace or service the media according to its instructions.
