MANTIS Turbo 13000 — Plan your return flow around the system
The Turbo 13000 is a Wi-Fi DC return-pump option for moving water from the sump back to the aquarium. Its published maximum flow is 13,000 L/h, approximately 3,434 US GPH.
François Neo’s recommendation
I recommend choosing a return pump around the flow you need after the water has travelled through your actual plumbing. Start with the lift height, pipe diameter, bends and any equipment on the return line. The largest number on the pump is not the flow you should expect at the aquarium.

Wi-Fi control and feed modes
- Adjust operation through the MANTIS app on iOS or Android.
- LED controller for local adjustment.
- Three built-in feed timers.
- A selection of outlet nozzles is supplied; check the fittings against your plumbing before installation.
Use the official MANTIS app setup guide for pairing. MANTIS specifies a non-5 GHz Wi-Fi network for setup; follow the controller instructions supplied with your pump.

This chart compares published maximum ratings and power ranges. It is not a flow-versus-head performance curve.
Tap the chart to enlarge it. Maximum flow and maximum head are separate operating limits; they are not achieved together.
Understanding the flow rating
Maximum flow and maximum head describe different operating points. Maximum flow is a low-head reference; useful flow falls as head pressure and plumbing losses rise. Do not treat the maximum head as the height at which the pump will still deliver its maximum flow.
François Neo’s installation checklist
- Plan for lift height and losses through pipework, bends, valves and any manifold-fed equipment.
- Check that the overflow and drain can safely handle the selected return flow.
- Leave access to remove the pump and clean the inlet and impeller.
- Keep the controller, power supply and electrical connectors dry and ventilated.
- After installation, test both a power-off drain-down and restart to confirm the sump has sufficient spare capacity.
Return flow connects the sump and display. Plan the additional circulation required by your corals separately.
Choosing the right size
Do not select this pump by aquarium volume alone. Share your lift height, pipe diameter, return layout and target flow with us so we can help you assess the installation. A model-specific head/flow curve is required to estimate delivery at a particular head; the maximum ratings alone cannot provide that figure.
